Worship Survey

St. John Lutheran Church, Palmer, Alaska

2008

First, we want St. John members and friends to know the purpose of our worship.  Worship is primarily service to God.  We hope to reach as many people as effectively as possible through our worship service.  There is a danger in taking a survey in that we give the impression that worship serves ourselves first.  But, keeping in mind that our worship serves God, the worship Board is asking the opinion of St. John members and Friends.

MUSIC, SONGS, AND HYMNS

The Worship Board, our Music Directors, and our musicians are looking for guidelines to shape our worship.  We would like to focus not just on the hymns songs we like, but on hymns and songs  that help in worship to touch our thoughts and attitudes.  In other words we are looking at hymns and songs that bring to closer communion with God through our worship.  As we desire to create a worship environment pleasing to God and strengthening to His people, we ask your input.
