Dear Friends and Members of St. John,

Please pray with me, Please rejoice with me! Please join me to consider God’s goodness which watches over us in the sorrows and joys of our lives!!!

St. Paul says of the church in 1 Corinthians 12:26-27, “26 If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.”

First of all, this week we have had a number of St. John members request prayers.  Paul says If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; Please pray with me for the following people.

  • Paul Ziegler had a portion of his lung removed on Monday to deal with cancer.  The doctor’s think they got it all.  If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; Please join me in praying for Paul.
  • Dave Miranda is having tests for re-occurrence of cancer that started in a kidney.  He has already had 2 surgeries.  The news so far is better than expected.  If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; Please join me in praying for Dave.
  • Al Kastar had surgery on Thursday in MN for prostate cancer.  If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; We haven’t yet heard how it went, but, please join me in praying for Al.
  • Rosie Kolberg entered the hospital on Wednesday with breathing problems.  She is in Mat Su Regional with a cancerous tumor that is obstruction air passage and blood flow.  If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; Please join me in praying for Roseanne.
  • Kristin Kopperud leaves soon from MN to move to St. Louis, hoping there will be a better chance for a heart transplant.  I hope to see her when I am in St. Louis.  If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; Please join me in praying for Kristin.

Now, please rejoice with me.  Paul also says of the church, if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. About 30 minutes ago I put my paper for my doctorate degree in the mail.  It will arrive Monday in St. Louis.  I see an end in sight.  Praise the Lord!

Finally, in the middle of life’s sorrows and joys, God’s love is constant.  On Sunday during adult Bible Class we will watch a DVD called, “How Great is our God!”  This is an EXTRA SPECIAL VIDEO, that uses astronomy and cellular biology to talk about the power of God and the love of God.  DON’T MISS THIS VIDEO!  You will enjoy hearing how God cares for us!

Back at work . . . finally!
