Dear St. John Members and Friends,
It’s that time of year again, and I am off to go moose hunting as part of my yearly vacation. I am officially gone and plan to be in the wood September 14-26. I will be in worship on September 27.
Since our party moose hunts by sitting at a pond, or ponds, and calling in the cow moose hoping that a bull will follow, we have time. We have time to wait for the moose to hear our call and decide to respond. Sometimes I sit at the pond for 4-5 hours and see no moose. We have to be quiet, but during that time I get to enjoy God’s creation, to listen, read, and pray.
I will be praying through my prayer list and our church directory again this year. But, in these modern days my cell phone does accompany me and I do get e-mails on my cell phone. While I am spending hours in prayer I would be glad to pray for you and your request. WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO PRAY ABOUT FOR YOU? God is faithful and I am convinced answers all prayers in His wisdom and love.
In Ephesians 6:18 Paul writes to the church in Ephesus asking and instructing them to “. . . pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always KEEP ON PRAYING FOR ALL THE SAINTS.”
I will pray for you, and I ask you to continue praying for me.
A Child of God Acting on His Promises.
Pastor Rockey
P.S. Because I am in moose camp, there will be no “Thoughts from the Pastor” next week.

However, if you don’t want to receive this e-mail, please let me know, and I’ll gladly leave your name off my list for this message. . . Or, if you know someone who would like to receive one of these e-mails, please send me their e-mail address.
